Watercolor Fundamentals
The fundamentals of painting remain essential, regardless of medium. What makes watercolor so captivating—both in its final form and in the process of its creation? How can we play to its strengths, embracing freedom without losing structure?
In this workshop, we’ll explore how watercolor behaves at varying levels of wetness, revisit foundational color theory, and study a simple still life subject. You’ll leave with a deeper confidence in approaching value, technique, and the essence of what you observe.
Botanical Watercolor
Learn the intricate language of delicate petals and foliage—how to capture detail while still allowing the impression to take precedence. In this workshop, we’ll move from the general to the specific, slowing down just enough to truly observe, without getting lost in unnecessary fuss.
Create something beautiful for your mom or the mother figure(s) in your life—or better yet, bring them along and share the experience.

Ask Me Questions! “I want to learn watercolor, where do I start?”, “I’m on a good track, but would like some more advanced guidance…”
I teach oils, watercolor, color theory, mixed media, and drawing at all levels and take great joy in curating lessons for individuals and groups at every level. My great task in teaching is to present the material to you in a way that feels incredibly approachable, with endless room to “fail”. I love pulling the best out of my students in ways that are subtle and sometimes sneaky :) Art can be challenging, but I’m here to share my experience in a way that balances nurture with momentum, encouragement with forward motion. There is no such thing as being late to the game. If you feel the pull, let’s paint! or draw!
